Our Story
Stage Captions started in conference halls, not control rooms. We noticed that in-person events rarely offered captions even though virtual platforms do it by default.
After attending sessions without accessible captions, we decided to build a browser-first alternative. Before our beta, we spoke with AV engineers and organizers in Vilnius to make sure setup was painless - and that's how we leaned into tools like OBS for livestreams and Resolume for venue screens.
Today, Stage Captions runs live captioning for events across Europe so teams can offer accessibility without extra headcount.
What We Believe
Accessibility isn't optional
In-person events should be just as caption-friendly as virtual ones.
Simplicity wins
Captions should run in a browser, connect to existing audio, and be shareable instantly.
Reliability matters
Low-latency performance, custom dictionaries, and scalable infrastructure are non-negotiable.
Partnership beats handoffs
We collaborate with AV teams, producers, and organizers to plan each event confidently.
Captions help everyone
Subtitles boost comprehension for non-native audiences and create a written record for post-event content.
